Obituary of Evelyn Marie Stacy
Please share a memory of Evelyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Evelyn Marie Stacy, age 92, died peacefully at her home, Monday, April 4, 2022 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, with her loving son and daughter-in-law by her side. Evelyn was born in Baltimore, Maryland. She grew up during the Great Depression and was a teenager during World War II. She married the love of her life, William Howard Stacy, a decorated Marine Corp veteran, and they settled in Fairborn, Ohio. Bill and Evelyn were blessed with three sons, Stanley Howard, Steven Robert and William Troy. As the children grew older, Evelyn did the bookkeeping and office management of both of the home improvement businesses she and Bill started and managed together until their retirement to Lake Havasu City in 1991. She was a kind, gentle spirit, who adored her family and friends. Her love for family was always demonstrated in the kitchen with so many wonderful meals and desserts prepared over a lifetime. Her Christian faith sustained her throughout and to the end of her life. Her love of animals, especially dogs was evident with the care she gave her pets, her adorable Yorkshires and the monthly contributions she made to the Humane Society most of her adult life. Besides her husband Bill, she was also preceded in death by her youngest son Bill Jr. Survivors include two sons, Stan and Steve Stacy, daughter-in-laws, Christi Stacy and Denise Stacy; 4 grandchildren, Kassidy Stacy Greenberg, Ian Stacy, Jason Stacy and Michael Stacy; and her brother, Joe Nash in Baltimore, Maryland. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. Friday, April 15, 2022, in the Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home, Lake Havasu City followed by burial at Lake Havasu Gardens. Visitation and services will be for immediate family only. The family wishes to acknowledge with heartfelt appreciation, the kindness, comfort, prayers and phone calls from friends and family. At the request of family, please consider contributions to the Arizona Humane Society.
