Obituary of Mary Jane Kauffman

Mary “Jane” Webb was born in Lawton, OK on April 1, 1926, the seventh of ten children. The family lived on various oil leases where her father worked, before settling in Vera, OK. At age 14, Jane met her future husband, Farl Glenn Kauffman, and they were married in March, 1943, while Glenn was in TX training as a fighter pilot. Glenn and Jane had four children, and his military career took the family to over 18 bases in the US and abroad. As the ultimate military wife, Jane packed up the household and children time and time gain, making a home at each new base until Glenn’s retirement in 1970. Glenn and Jane enjoyed travel and spending time outdoors, spending time with family and friends camping, fishing, boating, gardening, and golfing in the mountains of Idaho. They had a Christmas tree farm in the mountains of Idaho, travelled the USA in a motor home, and did commercial fishing from their boat in Washington. Jane loved reading, cooking, family, and needlework, making beautiful Christmas stockings and Barbie clothes for the extended family. A strong and generous woman, Jane demonstrated strength, wisdom, love, patience, and humor to all who knew her, and always had “just a bite” of something sweet to share with friends, family, and neighbors. Jane died on August 19, 2021 in Lake Havasu City, AZ mere weeks after the death of her husband Glenn in July, 2021. She was also preceded in death by parents Frank and Winnie Webb, oldest daughter Sherry Edmunds, and siblings Mildred, Rosie, Verl, Dale, Robert, Valjean, William, Sharrol, and Sue Nell. Jane is survived by her son Richard Kauffman, daughters Kathy Knight and Dee Hays, as well as the 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren she loved and adored. Your family misses you dearly, and we thank you for your love and contributions to our country as a military spouse. Services will be at Ft. Logan National Cemetery on October 1, 2021.
