Obituary of Dorothy Arlene Gill

Please share a memory of Dorothy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dorothy Arlene Gill, 90, passed away peacefully with loved ones near her on August 18, 2021, at 9:30 pm. Born in Norwich, Connecticut, on February 28, 1931, to Lee Roy and Mary Louise Minkert, she traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada to follow her dreams, and then on to Santa Barbara, California, finally landing in Fort Mohave, Arizona, where she spent her final years. Married four times, Dorothy loved old movies, helping people, and most of all, her soulmate Bernard Stern, who she met in 2009, and spent the last years of her life with, until his passing after 11 years of blissful joy. Her love of life and strength of spirit were the hallmarks of her personality. She was cheerful, hopeful, and optimistic, and encouraged those qualities in everyone around her. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. As per her wishes, she will be cremated, and her ashes scattered on Lake Havasu, Arizona. A park bench and newly planted tree will be dedicated to her memory in Newnan, Georgia, along the Linc Trail pathway, to be near her family. She is survived by a son, Sidney Fish, two daughters, Diana Kline and Donna Pollard, five grandsons: David, James, Jason, Jesse, and Justin, three granddaughters: Heather, Heidi, and Tabitha, and three great-grandchildren: Kelsey, Maverick, and Tristan.
