Skip Spenst Obituary (1943 - 2024)

"Long Story Short..." It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Skip, who embarked on new adventures at the age of 80. Born under the wide, open skies of Boise, Idaho, Skip lived a life that was as vast and varied as the landscapes he called home. Throughout his years, he made his mark in California and Oregon, before finally settling into the serene beauty of Lake Havasu City, where he enjoyed his well-earned retirement. A proud veteran, Skip enthusiastically served in the U.S. Navy, a chapter of his life that would lay the foundation for his unyielding spirit and tenacity. His patriotism was matched only by his passion for the automobile industry, where he distinguished himself both as a charismatic salesman and a visionary dealership owner. Skip's entrepreneurial spirit didn't stop there; he also delved into real estate and took pleasure in bringing construction projects to life, always with a sharp eye for a great deal. Skip had a rare gift for storytelling; his tales woven with humor and mischief, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of listening. His presence was magnetic, and his knack for negotiation was unparalleled. Above all, Skip valued the company of friends and family, his loyalty and love for those around him knew no bounds. His life was a tapestry of experiences and relationships, each thread representing the lives he touched and the memories he created. Skip leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an unwavering zest for life. He will be dearly missed by his children, Dorine, Dawn, and Jerod; his sisters, Mona Jordan and Lisa Atkinson; his brother, Devon Spenst; his adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with a multitude of friends and acquaintances whose lives were enriched by his presence. A celebration of Skip's life will be held at a later date, where we will gather to share stories, laughter, and love, just as he would have wanted.
