Mary "Janie" Curtis Obituary (1935 - 2025)

Mary Jane Curtis, known lovingly as Janie, was born on August 25, 1935 in Chickasha, OK, and passed away on June 26, 2025. Known for her warmth, generosity, and the sparkle in her eye, Janie lived a full and vibrant life, filled with love, laughter, and plenty of unique collections. Janie, a dedicated receptionist at a salon before her retirement, was known for her friendly demeanor and the joy she brought to everyone she met. Her love for creating was evident in her beautiful handcrafted birdhouses, intricate jewelry, and bookmarkers. She had a penchant for sending personalized Hallmark cards for special occasions, each card a testament to her thoughtful nature. A lover of all things bear-related, everything in her home reflected her adoration for these magnificent creatures. She also had an impressive collection of Alexander Dolls and Precious Moments that she cherished. She moved from Oregon City, OR to Lake Havasu City, AZ in 2015, where she spent ten wonderful years. Janie was widowed in 2022 by her husband George, having shared 57 blissful years. Her love story was one for the ages, filled with devotion and mutual respect. Janie is survived by her daughter, Leslie Minnig (Doug); son, Steve Gregg (Phyliss); brother, Roger Delk(Diana); and sister, Suzanne Vanderpool. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, George Delk; mother, Mary Floyd; and beloved husband, George Curtis. Janie's legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with as well as those she reached but never met.
