Dwayne "Skip" Scovil Obituary (1944 - 2025)

Dwayne “Skip” Scovil, of Lake Havasu City, AZ, passed away peacefully at home on November 29, 2025 at the age of 81. Born on July 7, 1944 in Geneseo, IL. He was the father to Daughter, Robin Carroll, Lake Havasu City, Az and sons Dwayne Scovil, Santa Ana, CA and Troy Scovil, Avon, IL. He had 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin Scovil and Ruby (Garrison) Scovil and His Sister Carmen (Scovil) Murphy. He is survived by his children, grandchildren and sisters JoAnna (Scovil) Cummins, Benton, IL, Marcia (Scovil) Jones, Topeka, KS, Susan (Pettersson) DeVilder, Kewanee, IL and Lorelei Scovil, Macon, MO. Skip was an avid bowler with many awards in the sport. He was sober 51 years and was an AA sponsor to many. He was loved by many people in the AA community. He worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor for 25 years. He was a proud member of the USMC and served from 1961-1965 was a cook where his nickname back then was Cookie. There will be no formal services as he has a small family in Lake Havasu City, Az and they have chosen to have a private service. Some AA facilities are planning memorial services in the Missouri and Illinois area.
